A funny situation occurred in Bratislava, when three of our ethical hackers stuck an imaginary AEC flag into the Hacker Challenge winners’ podium, thus nailing the complete TOP3 in the competition. They took Arduino Starter Kit home with them as the main prize and in their own words, they evaluate competition as follows: “The tasks given to us were fun and superbly done, even achievable in such a short time. We were the only ones competing as ethical hackers and other contestants were from other areas of expertise – which showed in the overall score when we completed tasks with an overwhelming score of 10:2 and 10:1 compared to our opponents. We really enjoyed the challenge and we are already looking forward to the next competition!”.

Dear speakers and visitors,

The fourteenth year of the OpenAlt conference which takes place in Brno on 2nd and 3rd November, awaits us. As usual, we want this year to surpass the previous one. We invite you, speakers, organizers, and visitors, come and help us to achieve this goal. Compared to last year, the space for questions and discussions will be expanded outside the lecture blocks and you can start looking forward to the topic of Open Culture.

OpenAlt 2019 topics:

• As every year, you can present your awareness-raising project to the public and get a new impulse for it to achieve even better results. It can be software but also hardware coming under the so-called home creation category, alias DIY, inherited from our parents and still ingrained in our blood.
• New sources of information are arising around us (open data), which are waiting to be used. Therefore, speakers who can share their knowledge on working with data will be most welcome. No matter if it means its aggregation and analysis or publishing in a comprehensible form.
• We are surrounded by the digital world in our daily activities. For this reason, we are preparing a series of lectures called Life and the World for a closer acquaintance with the digital world and to provide instructions on how to handle it. This includes safe behaviour at home and at work, opportunities and risks, or educational opportunities from an early age.
• The fastest way to gain experience is with practice, so we want to provide a lot of space for "How it works" workshops or lectures. Whether it's building a 3D printer, creating games, securing your computer, or how to present and draw correctly.
• We will touch on a new topic of Open Culture, the possibility to use open sources in your creations and potentially expand this area. It’s not just about using open source in art, but also about publishing and promotion.

Barcamp Brno 2019. Barcamp is an international network of open conferences and workshops focusing on new trends in internet applications, design, technologies, media, advertising, business, and other related fields.

This event, AI and Technology vs. Lawyers. Who Owns the Future? is an informal conference on the way technology affects legal professions and what development can be expect in the future.

The National Cyber and Information Security Agency is organizing a fifth year of conference CyberCon Brno 2019. The event will take place from 18th to 19th September 2019 traditionally at the premises of the Scala University Cinema in Brno. The conference is organized in cooperation with the student association Security Outlines.
